About HEMS
The Harvard Early Music Society is Harvard University's premier outlet for the celebration and performance of music and dance in the Baroque tradition. Founded in 1997, HEMS supports performances of early music at Harvard by engaging issues of performance practice while concurrently fostering an appreciation for this music in the community. We work closely with the Harvard Department of Music, Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club, Harvard Baroque Chamber Orchestra, Office for the Arts, and local theater professionals in addition to undergraduates to bring this history to life. We feature both student singers and opera professionals from the greater Cambridge/Boston area.
